MEET THE DUST SHUTTLE

Before the Dust Shuttle was a business, it was a van.

"My first sprinter had tinted windows and an AC compressor on the roof. I thought it looked like a rocket ship. I used to think 'this is my Planet Express.' I was a big Futurama fan." - Bryce Detweiler

Old things.
Fresh eyes.

In the summer of 2021, founder Bryce Detweiler and his friend Chad Forman departed Media, Pennsylvania for what became a 61-day continuous road trip across the United States in search of treasure and adventure after a grueling Covid lockdown. They put a pin in the map anywhere they had a friend to stay with and connected the dots to build their route. They had no leads, just unwavering trust that good items would abound. Both Bryce and Chad grew up in the antiques world and had well-trained eyes. Everything they found was a surprise, and they found a lot. When the van filled up they shipped the contents back home and kept driving. They roamed from Philly to the Florida bogs, from Tallahassee to sweet San Diego, up the coast to greet Seattle, and back across through Glacier and Chicago. They played music with fortune-telling witches, bought space-age sofas from micro-brewery barons, and won hands of Hold 'em against Saudi princes. They experienced America the way she is most intimately encountered: on the road in pursuit of a dollar. Arriving back in Media they had more items than they knew what to do with. Then the idea struck: "Sell it all at auction." Thus the first Dust Shuttle collection was born, and since then more than 50 have followed.
